Feilian Du is a documentary photographer active since 2020, whose work has taken him from urban commissions to the edge of the inhabited world. In this time, he’s migrated with the Bakhtiari nomads of Iran, ridden camels with the Bedouin of Sinai, trekked through the high-altitude plains of China, and travelled across the Southern Sea to Antarctica.

For Feilian, the image begins with a belief in human dignity: that people are inherently strong, no matter the world around them; that even those under hardship are not subjects for charity, but capable and resilient individuals we can stand alongside. Through his documentary photography, with an emphasis on environmental portraiture, he bears witness by showing up, staying, and paying attention - until a person and their world reveal what neither could alone.
